| By clues 2, 5, and 9, Jeremy, Emily, and Chad were the first three to sit
on Sid's--er, Santa's--knee in some order. If Emily had been 1st and the
Sparks child then 2nd (clue 5), since Jeremy isn't the Sparks child (10),
Chad would be the Sparks child and 2nd on Sid's--er, Santa's--knee.
Then Jeremy would have been 3rd with the child asking for an HDTV 4th and
the 4-year-old 5th (2). However, there is no way for clue 4 to work given
this arrangement. If Chad had been 1st and the 8-year-old then 2nd (9),
since Emily isn't the 8-year-old (3), Jeremy would be the 8-year-old and
2nd on Sid's--er, Santa's--knee. Then Emily would have been 3rd with the
Sparks child 4th and the child wanting a video camera 5th (5). However,
there is no way for clue 1 to work given this arrangement. Therefore, Jeremy
was 1st to get his wish "granted" by Sid--er, Santa--with the child asking for
an HDTV then 2nd (2). The latter is either Emily or Chad. Trying Chad 2nd,
8-year-old (9) Emily would have been 3rd--no (3). So, Emily sat on
Sid's--er, Santa's--knee 2nd and asked for an HDTV, with Chad Sparks then
3rd (5). By clue 9, the 8-year-old followed Chad; and the Decker child
was 5th to talk to the bearded one. By clue 2, either Chad or the Decker
child is the 4-year-old. If the Decker child were the 4-year-old, the
Decker child would be Amanda (4), with Kristin then the 8-year-old.
However, by clue 11, the Good child would be Emily--no (3). So, the
4-year-old in clue 2 is Chad. By clue 11, then, the Good child was 4th
on Sid's--er, Santa's--knee; and the Decker child asked for a laptop. By
clue 5, the Good child asked for a video camera. Then Amanda is the Decker
and Kristin the Good child (1). By clue 7, Jeremy asked Sid--er, Santa--for
a cell phone and Chad asked for an iPod. Jeremy's last name is Wilder (8)
and Emily's Mason. Neither Emily (6) nor Jeremy (10) is the 5-year-old,
so Amanda is. By clue 8, Emily is 7 and Jeremy 6. In sum, the first-and-only
five children to sit on Sid--er, Saint--Nick's knee at Spacy's asked for
too-big presents as follows:
