directly behind auto #6, and with auto #1 directly opposite auto #4, auto #2
directly opposite auto #5, and auto #3 directly opposite auto #6. By clue 6,
the red car is directly opposite the AnimalPals Auto driven by Henry Hippopotamus and is
between the blue vehicle and the car advertising Thor's Hammer. Arbitrarily,
then, we will bracket the red car with the blue one and the Thor's Hammer one
without yet determining in which direction we are going around the track.
By clue 1, the purple auto is directly opposite the green one, so that neither
of them can be the auto chauffeured by Henry Hippopotamus, which is opposite the red
car; nor can either be opposite the blue car. Therefore, the purple car is
either the auto sponsored by Thor's Hammer or is the car between the blue one
and the one driven by Henry Hippopotamus. If the purple car were the Thor's Hammer
special and the green car thus between the blue one and the Henry Hippopotamus-driven
vehicle, since the Auto driven by George Giraffe isn't next to the one driven
by Henry Hippopotamus (clue 4), the red car would be the one driven by George Giraffe
and the auto advertising Raging Rivers would be between the purple car and the
Henry Hippopotamus-driven auto. By clue 7, the black car follows the one driven by
cartoon animatron Willy Wolf, which isn't the Thor's Hammer car; so the black
car wouldn't be the one touting Raging Rivers and would be the Henry Hippopotamus
auto. By elimination, then, the yellow car would be the one with the depiction
of the Raging Rivers ride painted on it. However, since the yellow car
precedes the one driven by Buddy Bear, who doesn't drive the purple car (3),
there is no way for this arrangement to work. So, the purple car is between
the blue one and the AnimalPals Auto driven by Henry Hippopotamus. By clue 1, then,
the blue auto is George Giraffe's, Henry Hippopotamus wheels the Raging Rivers special
around the track, and the Thor's Hammer car is green. By clue 7, the black
auto must be chauffeured by Henry Hippopotamus. By elimination, the yellow vehicle
is between the green and black ones. By clue 3, therefore, Buddy Bear must be
the driver of the green car; and since the yellow car precedes the one driven
by Buddy Bear, we now know that the car colors in order counterclockwise are
green, yellow, black, purple, blue, and red. Therefore, by clue 7, Willy Wolf
operates the purple car. Ralph Rhinoceros is the driver of the yellow auto,
with the blue car then the one sponsored by the Mixing Bowl (2). The red car
features Alex Alligator behind the steering wheel--driving the car with the
Buccaneers ride ad on it (5). The yellow auto has the House of Dread ad (8)
and the purple car the Screaming Eagle. The red car isn't car #1 (5), #5, or
#6 (9). Since the Mixing Bowl car isn't auto #4 (2), the red car isn't
auto #3. Since the yellow car isn't auto #2 (8), the red car also isn't
auto #4. The red car is auto #2, so that the green one is auto #1, the blue
car is auto #3, the purple one is auto #4, the black vehicle is auto #5, and
the yellow car is auto #6. In sum, the AnimalPals Autos go round the track
as follows:
